What’s Happening

Following the launch of Pioneer Ministry, the focus is on getting the word out about the movement. A key part of this the National Director's visits to dioceses and meetings with Bishops. If you would like representatives from Pioneer Ministry to attend your diocesan synod or other events, please contact us.

Further, we will be slowly releasing various forms of communication to inform and keep up to date all those who are interested in and involved in the development of Pioneer Ministry. Please sign up to our newsletter to stay in the loop with all the latest news.

In addition to this, creating Diocesan Pioneer Ministry Hubs and Pioneer Learning Communities are initial focus areas. As the Pioneer Movement progresses, more events and projects will be launched across the Church of Ireland.

Diocesan Pioneer Ministry Hubs

A diocesan Pioneer Ministry Hub is a group of people, approved by the Bishop , including the diocesan pioneer ministry advocate who will champion, support, and advocate for pioneer ministry in their diocese. The Hubs will work closely with the National Director and be shaped to serve the Pioneer Ministry needs of each diocese .  Hubs will grow over time and will:

  • raise awareness of pioneer ministry

  • support pioneer initiatives

  • enable the training and resourcing of volunteers

  • network with Hubs from other dioceses to share learning and help foster a sense of Pioneer community across the Church of Ireland.

Step one in forming a Pioneer Ministry Hub

Please email ingrid@pioneerministry.org to set up an initial meeting with the Pioneer Ministry leadership team to help you identify the starting point and support you in developing a plan for your diocesan Pioneer Hub,  which will be tailored according to your context.

Pioneer Learning Communities

Pioneer Learning Communities facilitate shared learning and support within each diocese. They will be a small, focussed group of pioneers who meet, learn, share stories, pray and develop ideas and vision. For more information please email ingrid@pioneerministry.org
