Pioneer Project: Spiritual Pilgrimage and Tourism
We're delighted to announce the launch of an exciting new Pioneer Ministry Project from the United Dioceses of Tuam, Limerick and Killaloe around Celtic Christianity, pilgrimage and spiritual tourism and will be led by Valerie Raitt, who is the newly appointed Church of Ireland Pioneer Minister in the Diocese. In this video, alongside Valerie herself, you'll hear Bishop Michael Burrows and Archdeacons John Godfrey and Simon Lumby explain their vision for the project. They describe how they are joining in what God is already doing in the lives of those who live in the dioceses and in the lives those who are visiting and the unique opportunity it offers to reach those with little or no connection to church. Supported by the Pioneer Ministry Leadership Team, a key place of pilgrimage would become a new community of motivated people who would start a fresh base where there will be a rhythm of prayer, spirituality, and hospitality. In time, the plan for this new community is to begin to meet monthly, similar to how contemporary Christianity in a way re-planted Iona and made it a base for magnetic and distinctive worship.
